HYDERABAD: Computer lab inaugurated

HYDERABAD, Nov 27: DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed has called upon the teaching community to update their knowledge to improve the standard of education.

He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a computer laboratory and American discovery centre at the Government Nazareth Girls' College here on Friday.

He said the teaching community had proved itself as the pioneer of development in the world but unfortunately they had failed to come upto the expectations of people in Pakistan.

The DCO said education and health sectors were being run with missionary spirit in the world but that spirit was lacking in this country.

He said it was the duty of educational institutions having historical background like the Sindh Madressatul Islam to set an example for providing quality education as a role model for other institutions.

The DCO said the government had established computer laboratories in 27 colleges including 17 boys' and 10 girls' in the district.

He urged the district education authorities to ensure that trained teaching staff was made available at these centres.

He said the government had approved the reconstruction plan of the I.H. Zubairi Girls' College at a cost of Rs7 million.

The DCO announced the construction of an auditorium for students' educational, social and cultural activities.
