ARD activists not allowed to leave Sargodha

SARGODHA, April 27: A caravan of Pakistan People’s Party and PML(N) was restrained by Sargodha police from proceeding to Lahore to attend the ARD rally on Saturday.

PPP leaders Chaudhry Nisar Ahmed Razi, Maamoor Ahmed Bhatti, Rana Hakim Khan, Azizul Haq and Haji Farooq Hassan and PML(N)’s Tayaba Zamir Qureshi advocate, Haji Muhammad Aslam Kachela, ex-MNA and Haji Allah Yar Ansari, ex-MPA, alleged that Sargodha police stopped their caravan and forced them to return back.

A press release claimed that over 50 activists were arrested and confined to a roadside toll collection room.

Official sources said police took the action after the PPP-PML activists provoked it. Police sources said that some PPP activists also created law and order situation.
