RAWALPINDI: Two govt servants jailed for taking bribe
RAWALPINDI, June 6: Special judge anti-corruption Rawalpindi convicted two government employees for accepting bribe and awarded jail sentences and fines, an official handout issued here on Thursday said.
The judge sentenced Mulazim Hussain, a clerk of education department Attock, to two years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000.
The convict will have to undergo another six months rigorous imprisonment, if he fails to pay the fine.
He was awarded punishment for receiving Rs20,000 in bribe.
The judge sentenced Moham-mad Azam, tax superintendent Municipal Committee Jhelum to one year rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs5,000. In the event of failure to pay the fine, the convict will have to undergo another six months rigorous imprisonment. He was found guilty of accepting Rs500 in bribe.
