Security forces kill 12 militants in Charsadda

CHARSADDA Twelve militants were killed and eight were captured in an overnight operation in Shabqadar, a disputed rural area of Charsadda.

According to details, gunship helicopters shelled different locations in the area, including Khalil Korona, Shanir Ghandy, Akrabdad, Juma Khan Kila, Muhab Kila and Rashkai Korr.

Shelling in the Ayesha Korr area resulted in the killing of 12 militants.

Military forces also crushed an important militant key position at Mohab Qila and captured the Juma Khan Qila which was attacked by militants, however no damage was reported.

Security forces also fired mortar shells in the Pandial region, which fell on to a house, wounding two women and a girl.

Due to continuous curfew, the problem of transporting the injured to hospitals has gotten worse in the region.
