Six girls of a family drown in Jhelum

SARGODHA, June 24: The bodies of six girls of a family who had drowned in Jhelum on Sunday were recovered on Monday evening.

The elders of a family of Mouza Bakhar Bar (Shahpur tehsil), some 35 kms from here, had vowed that their girls would take bath in Jhelum if blessed with a son.

The daughters of Nazar Muhammad, Riaz and Maula Bakhsh had gone with their family members to keep the vow. The girls who did not know how to swim, drowned. The family did not report the matter to anyone.

However, a search was launched on Monday with the help of area people who recovered the bodies of Tasneem (18), Bilqees (13), Ambreen (16), Fayyaz Bibi (15) Rafia (11) and Shazia (9).

This was stated by Pakistan Tehrik Insaf chief Imran Khan while speaking to newsmen in the Press Club here on Monday.

He said America and its allies could play the part of mediators between India and Pakistan in resolving the Kashmir dispute.

He said his party would bring changes to the judicial system for ensuring speedy justice to the people irrespective of their social status. He suggested that judicial commission comprising three supreme court judges should be set up.
