‘Gen Rani’ dies of cancer

ISLAMABAD, July 1: Aqleem Akhtar, commonly known as General Rani, died at Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore, after protracted illness on Monday afternoon, family sources told Dawn.

Aqleem Akhtar, 70, died of cancer at 3.30pm after fighting against cancer for over five years, a family member said.

She was buried in Lahore at 11pm.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters.
