Sialkot business may have direct trade with China

SIALKOT, July 3: China has offered to lease out 450 shops and offices in Shuang, an international World Trade Centre in Urumqi (China), to the Sialkot business community besides offering some direct trade relations.

The offer was made by the Chinese businessmen while addressing a joint meeting of local traders, industrialists and exporters at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), here on Wednesday, after visiting various industrial units, in Sialkot city and it’s outskirts.

The Chinese delegation said that China and Pakistan, the two brotherly countries, are enjoying healthy trade relations, but still there exists vast scope of expanding this relationship.

There are bright opportunities of setting up the joint ventures between Pakistan and Chinese companies. Various Chinese companies have also shown their keen interest in establishing various joint ventures with Pakistani companies.

Appreciating the unique export culture of Sialkot, the Chinese businessmen’s delegation comprising five members, led by Vice Mayor of Urumqi Municipal City Wang Yunhe, said that the Sialkot business community can explore the new world trade horizons by investing in China and establishing various joint ventures with Chinese companies, besides capturing the international trade markets of China by exporting it’s best quality items. Both Chinese and Pakistani businessmen are also enjoying the “business friendly atmosphere” in their countries.

Wang Yunhe was of the view that Chinese government has already announced a special package of incentives for the foreign investors besides providing them peace, security and business friendly atmosphere in China.

Welcoming this offer, vice president of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Raja Muhammad Athar Dar assured the delegation of full co-operation by the Sialkot business community for enhancing the mutual trade activities and further strengthening the “ever lasting” mutual trade ties between Pakistan and China.
