HYDERABAD: Police asked to curb crime in T.M. Khan

HYDERABAD, May 2 Expressing concern over an increase in crime rate in Tando Mohammad Khan district, Pakistan Muslim League (Q) leader Pir Sajjad Jan Sirhandi has called upon the police force to take effective measures to maintain law and order in the district.

Speaking at a meeting held under the aegis of Haq Sach Tanzeem, he said that Tando Mohammad Khan should not be crucified at the altar of politics, and added that instead of abandoning old development schemes in backward areas, the authorities concerned should complete the schemes.

“No corruption will be tolerated in the execution of development schemes,” he said, and added that the people of the district had always reposed confidence in them and they would not let the people down.

He said that those leaders who had reached the assemblies and had become ministers through the votes of the people were neglecting their constituencies and voters. On the contrary, he alleged, they were creating more problems for their voters.

He said that instead of taking effective steps to improve law and order situation, appointments and transfers were being made in the police department on political basis which had further worsened the situation.

He expressed the hope that the voters in the next elections would think twice before voting for those who had neglected them. “Vote is not a jagir of anyone but an inherent right of the voters,” he said.

He said that capitalists had always exploited workers and called upon the working class to unite for their rights.

Doulat Khan Pathan, Allahdino Veesaro, Mohammad Younus Soomro, Farzana Qureshi, Shahida Khaskheli and others also spoke on the occasion.
