OGDC finds gas near Hyderabad
ISLAMABAD May 15 Gas has been discovered by the Oil and Gas Development Company in its exploratory Pasakhi-West deep well No 1 located in Hyderabad district in Sindh.
The wells were drilled down to the depth of 3.500 meters targeting to test the potentials of sand of lower Goru formation of cretaceous age.
A company statement said that based on log data, two zones were selected for testing, the production testing of zone one of lower goru sand started on May 4, which did not produce at surface.
The production testing of zone two of lower goru sand members started on May 11, which proved productive. The short duration initial testing results of zone two are tabulated as quantity of gas 6.70 mmcfd and the quantity of condensate was 80 barrels per day.
