Maroof tennis begins

KARACHI, June 3 Top seeds Nomi Qamar and Nasir Mushtaq are set to clash again for the men's singles crown for the second time in two weeks as Maroof Trophy tennis commenced at the Beach View Club on Wednesday.

Nomi, an ex Davis Cupper, came from the brink of defeat to post 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 victory over Nasir to win the men's singles title in the Anti Tobacco Day tennis tournament on Sunday.

Earlier, Nasir had once beaten Nomi in a fierce men's singles final of a Sindh Ranking tournament.

According to organisers, three players from Larkana and two from Mirpurkhas have also entered the event.
