Rs400m uplift plans launched in Haripur
HARIPUR, July 23: The district government of Haripur has launched development schemes worth Rs400 million in different union councils to bring the under-developed areas at par with the developed areas.
This was stated by district Nazim Dr Raja Aamir Zaman at a public gathering in the Labarkot union council, some 55 kilometres from here. He inaugurated the Sairi Road construction project there which will cost Rs4.5 million.
The district Nazim criticized the elected representatives of the area for their indifferent attitude towards the deprived and neglected areas like Labarkot, Bhireray.
He said since the day he had assumed the office of district Nazim, he had focussed his attention on the development of neglected parts of the district.
Development projects of Rs400 million, he said, were already under way while Rs140 million were in the pipeline, which, he added, the district government intended to spend on construction of roads, water supply and health care projects.
He informed the gathering that a hospital and water supply scheme in village Hily had already been approved which would be constructed at the cost of Rs6.4m. He said Rs10 million had been earmarked for electrification and other uplift projects in the Jabri union council.
