Five outlaws killed in Chaman shoot-out

QUETTA, Nov 5 Five alleged kidnappers were killed and two others injured in an exchange of fire with law-enforcement personnel near the Pakistan-Afghan border on Thursday.

According to Qila Abdullah DPO Hamid Shakeel, a contingent of police and Anti-Terrorism Force raided a hideout of kidnappers in Boghara area near Chaman to arrest them, but they opened fire.

A fierce gunbattle ensued in which five outlaws were killed and two others injured. Eleven suspects were arrested after the three-hour fighting but ringleader Talib Jamalzai escaped, the source said.

Bodies were taken to the Chaman hospital and four of them were identified as Sattar, Agha Jan, Gul Khan and Tor Jan.

Three Kalashnikovs, two rifles, one rocket launcher and 1,000 rounds were seized from the hideout.
