Murree administrator is too busy to do his job

MURREE, March 13 The newly-appointed town administrator is too preoccupied with his additional responsibilities that he could not pay attention to his job making people visiting the municipal offices suffer.

Besides being administrator, Town Municipal Officer (TMO) Nadeem Sarwar is also holding the positions of deputy district officer revenue, secretary, Murree Improvement Trust, sub-registrar, Murree, special price control magistrate and protocol officer, the government of Punjab.

It is amazing that the offices do not have full time heads to handle their affairs as the posts have been lying vacant for the last more than three years.

A large number of people from far flung areas of Murree visit these office to get their problems redressed, which include registration of lands, settlement of land disputes, registration of domicile certificates, complaints regarding various departments, transfer of land and a lot of other issues but could not see the official concerned for weeks.

Visitors to Murree Town told this reporter that they had been visiting the offices for the last several weeks but could not get their problems solved as the administrator being preoccupied with his other responsibilities could not attend them.

This state of the situation has also badly affected the on-going operation against illegal encroachments, including illegally constructed high-rise buildings which were to be demolished on the order of the Supreme Court.

Locals have appealed to Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif to look into the issue and appoint permanent officers on these offices to solve the problems of the locals.
