Ranking Snooker Asif, Shehram tame rivals

ISLAMABAD, April 23 Mohammad Asif easily overcame former amateur world snooker champion Mohammad Yousuf in a lop-sided contest played at the Pakistan Sports Board on the second day of Ranking Snooker Championship.

Asif from Punjab won all four frames before the mid-session interval against Yousuf who hails from Sindh.

Asif potted the first red of the match but Yousuf could not contain surprise moves from his opponent, losing the game 79-52, 49-22, 81-74, 68-51.

Shehram Changezi from Punjab recorded a good win against Mohammad Ahsan Javed from Sindh, winning it by 4-2. Ahsan took the opening frame by 59-66 but Shehram bounced back to win the second frame 90-57.

Ahsan, however, made a good come back by winning the third frame 37-65 but wnet on to lose the fourth 37-65 and fifth 58-44 to go down fighting.

In other fixtures Farhan Noor, Imran Shehzad from Punjab and Farrukh Usman from Sindh won their respective matches.
