LARKANA: CMC teachers boycott classes

LARKANA, Aug 26: The boycott of classes by the Chandka Medical College teachers, which entered eighth day on Monday, has paralyzed academic activities at the campus here.

The teachers have resorted to the boycott since last Monday, to protest against the police failure to arrest the assailants of Prof Zaffar Pirzado.

The students were seen leaving the campus when this correspondent visited the college on Monday.

However, according to the decision of the Chandka Teachers Association (CTC), the annual examinations of the CMC will not be affected by the boycott.

A general body meeting of the CTA and Pakistan Medical Association would be held on Tuesday to decide about further steps to press the city administration for the arrest of the accused, said the CTC president, Dr Malik Jalbani.

Lately, Dr Sikandar Jatoi and Qadir Aheer of the Pakistan People’s Party-SB met Prof Pirzado and offered help in resolving the issue, but Pirzado reportedly turned the offer down.
