MULTAN Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday said that attacks such as the one on Data Darbar affect the economy adversely. He said that to achieve freedom from the IMF, everyone in the country will have to be included in the tax system.
While addressing the Multan chambers, Qureshi said that Pakistan has had problems with India in the past and those may continue in the future as well, but Pakistan will not budge from her stance on certain issues.
Qureshi said that despite differences between India and China, trade between the two countries was worth eight billion dollars. However, trade between Pakistan and China was only worth six million dollars.
He further said that Pakistan must concentrate on economic diplomacy.
He predicted that if poverty and unemployment was not controlled, it would create more problems for the country. — DawnNews
