KARACHI Pakistan's Farhan Zaman is the only Pakistani who secured a place in the quarter-finals of the men's World Junior squash championship in Quito, Ecuador.
Farhan stunned Mexico's Miled Zarazua 11-3, 11-6, 11-9. The 17-year-old from Peshawar will face Egypt's Mohamed El Sherbini in the quarter-finals.
Pakistan's other players Waqas Mahboob, Danish Atlas Khan and Nasir Iqbal bowed out of the event after losing their respective matches.
Egypt's Ali Farag thrashed Waqas 11-2, 11-4, 11-5.
Canadas Nick Sachvie defeated Danish 12-10, 5-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-9.
Germany's Rudi Rohrmuller outclassed Nasir 11-5, 11-6, 12-10.
