QUETTA, July 30 A head constable of traffic police was shot dead on Sirki Road area of the city on Friday.

Sources said that head constable Syed Zulfiqar Shah was on duty near the Barrach Market when two armed men on a motorbike opened fire on him and fled.

Mr Shah was injured and taken to a hospital but he died before receiving medical treatment.

A case was registered by the police and investigation was in progress.
