SWABI, Aug 25: LPG price has reached to Rs160 per kilogram across the district with the commodity only available in black market.

Two days back the 1kg LPG was available at Rs140 but now its price had been raised by Rs20 to Rs160 per kg.

It was learnt on Wednesday that various small LPG dealers of a number of areas had sold their stock to their 'favourites' crating problems for the common consumers, said the sources.

Consumers said the LPG dealers had been taking full advantage of the situation and selling it at higher rates. They complained that the district administration had failed to take action against the profiteers.

When asked the LPG dealers told this correspondent that due to floods in different parts of the country LPG supply had been slashed, which had increased both its price and demand.

Meanwhile, the prices of fuel wood and kerosene oil have also registered an increase impacting purchasing power of the poor consumers.

SHOT DEAD: A woman was killed when members of two families clashed over the ownership of a Hujra (common guest house) on Wednesday, said police.

Registering FIR in city police station, Aamir Khan, son of the deceased, stated that a dispute over their Hujra caused the killing of his mother.

He alleged that the accused Amjid Khan, one of their neighbours, had been claiming that the Hujra belonged to him which led to rivalry.

He alleged that Mr Amjid opened fire over them as a result his mother was killed on the spot while the killer escaped.
