TTP claims Quetta, Lahore attacks
LADDAH, Sept 3 The outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for attacks on processions in Quetta and Lahore over the past three days.
Talking to Dawn by phone, the 'commander' of TTP's suicide wing, Qari Hussain, said the attacks had been carried out by Taliban suicide bombers.
“Our war is against America and Pakistan,” he said, adding that attacks on pattern of the attempted bombing at New York's Time Square would be carried out in Europe and America soon.
He said the bounty announced on Hakimullah Mehsud and Waliur Rehman proved that the Taliban were a headache for America.
More attacks in Europe and America would prove that the Taliban were still organised and active, he added.
Agencies add “(President Barack) Obama and his allies are our enemies --- they are afraid of us. We do not care if they have declared us a terrorist group,” Qari Hussain said.
The United States said on Wednesday it had added the TTP to its list of foreign terrorist organisations.
“The US listing of TTP as a terrorist organisation is a sign of them being scared. It shows the US and its allies are scared of us,” Qari Hussain said.
