Four killed, 14 injured on Murree highway

MURREE, Sept 27: A truck carrying a nomad family from Murree to Rawalpindi overturned on Islamabad-Murree Dual Carriageway killing four people, including three women, on Monday.

Police said 14 people, seven children and five women among them, were also injured. They were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) where condition of 10 of them was stated to be serious.

The accident occurred near Awain Mor due to speeding.

The nomads live in the jungles of Murree during the summer by installing tents and move to Rawalpindi before winter.

Despite establishment of speed breakers, accidents have become a routine on the road due to its faulty alignment.

It may be noted here that another truck carrying nomad people overturned on Mussiari road, a link road to the carriageway, killing two women and injuring 10 others on Sunday.
