DADU: 24 education dept officials sacked in Dadu

DADU, Sept 11: At least 24 officials of the education department, including four SDOs, were dismissed by the provincial education secretary, Nazar Hussain Mehar, on Wednesday on charges of embezzling funds.

The officials were dismissed on the findings of a report submitted by the former deputy commissioner of Dadu, Alamuddin Bulo, to the chief secretary Sindh and the provincial secretary education. The report stated that Rs30 million had been embezzled in the education department between 1992 to 1999 by at least 19 district officials.

Secretary education Nazar Hussain Mehar had instituted an inquiry against 24 officials.

The officials, who have been dismissed, are: Mohammad Khan Panhwar (ex-SDEO Dadu), Niaz Ail Jatoi (ex-SDEO Dadu), Abdul Qadir Sahar (ex-SDEO Dadu), Khamiso Khan Burdi (ex-SDEO Sehwan), Muhammad Ayoob Lashari (supervisor Dadu), senior clerks Muhammad Ramzan Solangi, Mazhar Hussain Memon, M. Soomar Lund, Taj M. Magsi, Abdul Majeed Thaheem, taluka masters Ghulam Rasool, Khalid and assistants Atta Muhammad Shahani and Abid Hussain Khuhro.
