Man killed in Mardan clash
MARDAN, Oct 8: One person was killed and another critically injured as rival groups clashed over a petty issue in Katlang tehsil on Friday.
Sher Nawaz and Akbar Shah developed a dispute over the ownership of a piece of land in Jamal Gari area, which could not be settled despite efforts of the elders.
However, Sher Nawaz and his brother Ilyas opened fire on Akbar Shah and his relative Salman Din when they were going home. As a result Akbar Shah died on the spot while Salman Din was shifted to nearby hospital in critical condition.
The Jabbar police lodged an FIR on the complaint of the victim's relative Liaqat against the accused Sher Nawaz and Ilyas.
INJURED: Five persons were injured by opponents over a matrimonial dispute in Mayar locality, eyewitnesses said.
The locals told officials of Hoti police station Juma Gul opened firing on his opponents Nigar Khan, Taj Akbar, Ismail, Mohammad Zia and Masood and injuring them.
The accused Juma Gul fled from the scene. —Correspondent
