Man accuses police of torture
MIRPURKHAS Nov 16: A resident of Rafsar Town Mohammad Iqbal Bughio has accused the Tando Ghulam Ali police (Badin) of keeping him in illegal confinement and torture for 15 days. He said he was released only after paying bribe to them.
He told journalists here on Tuesday that he was picked-up from a petrol pump in Digri by policemen in civvies and shifted to a torture cell. He accused ASI Khaliq Jarwar and Head Constable Gulab Chandio of detaining him at different torture cells while keeping him blindfolded and handcuffed.
He further alleged that the policemen kept talking on mobile phone with his brother and sought Rs100,000 bribe for my release and finally agreed to an amount of Rs40,000. During the press conference, he also showed marks of torture on different parts of his body.
He said that his life was in danger and demanded of the higher authorities to provide him protection and legal action against police officials.
