Man gunned down in Mardan

MARDAN, Nov 19: A man was gunned down in the jurisdiction of Sheikh Maltoon Town police station on Friday for having illicit relationship with a woman.

Police and eyewitnesses said Naveed shot dead a resident of Zarin Abad locality identified as Usman on suspicion of having illicit relation with his wife for quite some time. He fled the scene after committing the murder.

It is pertinent to mention here that the killer's wife had also received multiple bullet injuries when Naveed shot her a day before Eidul Azha.

Saleem, father of the slain person, registered a murder case in the Sheikh Maltoon Town police station against Naveed. WATAN CARDS:

Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has rejected the notion that the ANP-led provincial government has been distributing Watan Cards among its workers.

The chief minister expressed these views while addressing party workers and civil society members who called on him at his residence here the other day.

He said the provincial government was committed to not only helping the flood-hit people but also rehabilitating them as soon as possible.

He criticised the former JI chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad for his statement regarding the distribution of Watan Cards among the ANP workers and blamed him for political point scoring while issuing such statements.

He, however, made it clear that those found involved in irregularities in distribution of Watan Cards would be dealt with iron hands.

Mr Hoti said there was no sugar crisis in the province as the provincial government had taken practical steps for smooth flow of sugar.
