First flight of Hajis lands at Benazir airport

ISLAMABAD, Nov 22: The first post-Haj flight of national flag carrier landed at Benazir Bhutto Airport early Monday morning.The Hajis, arriving by PK3762, were welcomed among others by the senior officials of PIA including the GM North.

In a statement issued by PIA, the post-Haj operations got delayed due to congestion at Jeddah Airport and strict security measures by the Jeddah Civil Aviation Authority.

“The arrival delays will continue for coming days too till early allotment of bays by Jeddah CAA,” PIA said, “This will be possible with the reduction of passengers of various countries at Jeddah airport.” Currently, around 60,000 Hajis of different countries are present at Jeddah Airport for their respective flights of various airlines.

“While PIA has asked the Jeddah CAA to facilitate the returning Hajis, the airline has also asked the returning Hajis to reach the Jeddah airport well ahead of time to avoid inconvenience,” the press note issued by the airlines said.
