India tests Trishul

BALASORE, Sept 24: India on Tuesday successfully test-fired its most sophisticated short-range missile, the Trishul, from a range on the country’s eastern coast, defence sources said.

The indigenously developed surface-to-air missile was test-fired from a mobile launcher in Orissa. The Trishul, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organization for the Indian military, has a nine kilometre range and can carry a 15kg warhead.
