Mercury plunges to minus 9 in Quetta

QUETTA, Dec 9: The people of Quetta experienced on Thursday night the coldest night of the winter season as minimum temperature dropped to minus 9 degrees Centigrade. Freezing Siberian winds continued to blow through Quetta and other parts of northern Balochistan, forcing the people to stay indoors.

According to the Metrological Office, the maximum temperature has dropped to 14 degrees Centigrade in Quetta and the cold-wave is expected to intensify on Friday.

In Kalat, the minimum temperature dropped to minus 11 degrees Centigrade. Met Office has predicted a dry weather with extremely cold night in Quetta, Kalat, Ziarat and other parts of northern Balochistan.—Staff Correspondent
