Kashmiris to mark 2011 as year of self determination

ISLAMABAD, Dec 19: Kashmiris across the world will observe 2011 as the self-determination right year to highlight the lingering Kashmir issue.

This was decided at a parliamentary party meeting of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (AJ&KMC) at Kashmir House. Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan chaired the meeting.

The first event of the self-determination year will be held in Muzaffarabad on January 1. The meeting decided to invite President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Senate chairman, speakers of the National and provincial assemblies, chief ministers, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leadership, representatives of Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC), European parliamentarians, and the United Nations representatives to the first event.

The AJK leaders expressed gratitude to Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao for voicing urgency to resolve the Kashmir dispute.
