Singolane overwhelm Winder 3-1 in Lyari League

LAHORE: Singolane overwhelmed Winder Gaddani 3-1 on Tuesday in Group B of the PFF-KESC Lyari Football League 2011 at Shaheed Abdul Rehman Park, Lyari Town, Karachi.

The winners were 2-0 up at half-time. Before the match, a one-minute silence was observed for Murad Bakhsh alias Pencil (Kalakot Union), a famous player in his hey days, who died three hours before kick-off.

Singolane gave no room to the visitors from Balochistan and striker Idriss Rehman scored a hat-trick with goals in the 8th, 28th and 41st minute. Winder replied with a goal from winger Naseer Ahmed in the 55th minute.

The match was supervised by Jalal Ahmed under Match Commissioner Yaqoob Baloch. The assistants were Farid Ahmed, Muhammad Yasin and Muhammad Jalal.

Earlier, Nawalane hit a last minute equalizer through Abdul Basit to hold Hub, Balochistan 2-2 in Group-A. The match was 1-1 at half-time. The vistors from Balochistan scored both goals through midfielder Inayat Ullah in the 27th and 41st minute. Striker Muhammad Fahad was first half scorer for Nawalane in the 18th minute.

Wednesday’s fixtures:

Lyari Town v Bela (Abdul Rehman Park, 2.30 PM),

Rangiwara v Nawalane (Abdul Rehman Park, 4 PM).
