Woman working for Levies killed by militants in Hangu
KOHAT, Jan 14: A woman working for the Kurram Levies Force and five members of her family were killed in an attack on her house in Toot Kass village of Hangu district on Friday night.
According to sources, Shamshad Begum was gunned down by the assailants, along with her two daughters, two sons and a daughter-in-law. Her minor son Ishaq was injured.
The sources said the attack was carried out by four masked men who escaped.
Ms Shamshad, deployed at the Chappari checkpost, had been receiving threats from militants who wanted her to quit the job.
A Thall police official said relatives of the deceased had not named anyone in the FIR.
Toot Kass village, adjacent to Kurram Agency, is considered a safe haven of militants.
Vehicles carrying people to the agency have been frequently attacked in the area and security forces recently conducted an operation there.
10 MILITANTS KILLED: Ten militants were killed and seven others injured in an operation by security forces in central Kurram on Friday.
Three hideouts of the militants in Chinarak area adjacent to Orakzai Agency were destroyed.
