Khosa vows to bridge PPP, PML-N gap

LARKANA, Jan 15: Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa has said he will be a bridge between the top leadership of the PPP and PML-N in line with the policy of reconciliation of the government.

He was talking to reporters after offering fateha and laying wreaths at the graves of Bhuttos in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on Saturday. Mr Khosa said he would take all on board to bury the hatred and promote the politics of love.

He said that Mian Nawaz Sharif and Maulana Fazul Rehman had welcomed his appointment.

Mr Khosa said he had requested Maulana to rejoin federal cabinet and he had responded positively.

The governor said he had a 40-year association with the PPP, but he was still its worker. Benazir Bhutto had been staying at his home in Lahore and sometimes it (home) had been declared as sub-jail.

He said that democracy in the country was the result of an unparallel sacrifice of Benazir Bhutto.

In reply to a question, he said that the PPP was as strong in Punjab as it was in Sindh.

Later, he attended a lunch hosted by the district PPP and district government at circuit house. He was accompanied by secretary-general of the PPP Jahangir Badar, Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro and Sindh Minister for Women Development Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto.?
