National Snooker semi-finals today

KARACHI, Feb 8: The 36th NJI National Snooker Championship resumes after a short break here at Karachi Gymkhana on Wednesday with two semi-finals on the cards.

Pakistan’s No 1 Imran Shahzad is drawn to meet reigning national champion Mohammad Sajjad while Sultan Mohammad faces Mohammad Shahid in the two semi-finals at 11.00am.

Imran had overcome Mohammad Asif Toba 5-4 while Sajjad was home 5-2 against Mohammad Asif in the two quarter-finals held on Friday.

Qualifier Shahid shocked Pakistan’s No 2 Sohail Shahzad 5-3 while Sultan Mohammad defeated former national champion Naveen Perwani 5-4 in the other two matches.

The last-four matches and final were deferred by the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) in consultation with a private television channel for live telecast of the said contests.
