Four militants killed in grenade attack

LANDI KOTAL, Feb 12: Four militants including a commander were killed in a hand grenade attack in Bazaar-Zakhakhel area of Khyber Agency on Saturday, official sources said.

They said that Gul Wali Khan and his three associates received fatal injuries when some unidentified persons hurled hand grenades at the hujra of a local elder, Dost Mohammad Khan.

Later, all the four injured succumbed to their injuries as they could not be shifted to any hospital for fear of arrest. All of them were wanted by local political authorities in a number of subversive activities.

Considered as a strong base of banned militant organisation Lashkar-i-Islam, Bazaar-Zakhakhel has been the scene to a number of bloody clashes between rival militant groups in the recent past.  — Correspondent
