ANP dissidents to move ICJ against drone attacks
PESHAWAR, Feb 18: The National Democratic Front (NDF) has announced to file a case in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against killing of innocent Pakistanis in drone attacks.
It has also decided to launch ‘Pakhtun Bachao Movement’ and to formally start its activities soon from the constituency of Chief Minister Ameer Haidar Hoti in Mardan.
NDF chairman and ANP dissident MNA Khwaja Mohammad Khan Hoti made this announcement at a public meeting at the Loya Hujra in Gulli Bagh on Friday.
The ANP dissidents and elders of the nearby villages attended the meeting. Besides others, PPP-S leader Kamal Shah also spoke on the occasion while Haji Mohammad Iqbal presided over the public meeting, says a press release issued here.
Mr Hoti said that the ANP leadership had formed a jirga and launched movement against the drone attacks, but later they all adopted silence overthe killing of innocent Pakistanis and preferred to serve their personal interests.
He alleged that the drone attacks were carried out in consultation with the ANP leadership, otherwise the party was morally bound to raise forceful voice against the killings of people.
Recalling the election commitments of the ANP, Mr Hoti said that poor people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa still expected free of cost 100 units of electricity and getting their usurped rights, but the party failed to fulfill its promises.
“I resigned from the ministry when I realised that the ANP was not sincere with the people of this province,” the MNA said.
He said that the rampant corruption by the ANP government could be judged from the fact that it had stopped the development schemes and whenever a building was constructed it started falling due to use of substandard materials.
He said that the corrupt people should be removed from the power corridors and asked people to reject them in the next elections.
