Sanaullah questions govt move in Davis case
LAHORE, Feb 18: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has blamed the federal government for creating a confusion in the Raymond Davis case.
Talking to the media here on Friday, the minister questioned the federal government move of getting more time from the Lahore High Court in clarifying the status of Davis when former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had clearly said that the accused did not enjoy any diplomatic immunity. He told a questioner if the PPP did not implement the 10-point reforms agenda given by PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, it would “die its political death”.
Referring to Senior (PPP) Minister Raja Riaz's comment that the PPP minister would offer thanksgiving prayers when relieved from the Punjab cabinet, Rana Sanaullah asked what was barring Riaz from materialising his wish.
The minister said a majority of the PML-Q MPAs in the Punjab Assembly had decided to form their own parliamentary group (Unification Bloc) separate from their parent party under their legal and constitutional right, and there was nothing wrong in it. Staff Reporter
