Nawaz rejects idea of alliance with PML-Q

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Monday said his party will not form an alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q), DawnNews reported.

He said the PML-N had dismissed the idea even during governor rule in Punjab.

Addressing party workers in Lahore, Nawaz said there was no place in the PML-N for those who sided with a dictator.

He further said the military's duty was to guard the country's borders, not to partake in politics.

Nawaz said that if former president Pervez Musharraf had been the current ruler, Raymond Davis would have been sent back to the United States.

Moreover, he said that to take the country out of the current crises, the state's institutions must follow the independent judiciary's footsteps.
