Petition against Musharraf

KARACHI, March 8: The Sindh High Court on Monday disposed of a petition seeking trial of former president retired General Pervez Musharraf on treason charges after the federal law officer assured the court that the action against him would be taken in accordance with the law.A division bench comprising Justices Gulzar Ahmed and Imam Bux Baloch was informed by the officer that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) would make an inquiry with regard to the complaint of the petitioner. The court accordingly disposed of the petition, which was filed by Raah-i-Rast Trust chief Agha Ataullah Shah who prayed to the court to direct the FIA to register a treason case against the former military ruler for allegedly abrogating the constitution. —Staff Reporter
