Seven killed in Gujranwala road accident

GUJRANWALA: Seven persons, including four of a family, were killed while 20 others received injuries in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on the Alipur-Wazirabad road near Gujranwala's village of Saaroki Cheema on Tuesday.

Speaking to APP at the site of the accident, DSP Wazirabad Amjad Hussain Tarar said the bus was on its way to Rawalpindi from Vanekay-Tarar.

However, when it was near the Saroki Cheema area it crashed into a truck coming from the opposite direction.

The truck was going to Alipur from Wazirabad.

The injured were rescued from the bus and shifted to hospitals in Wazirabad and Gujranwala.
