SUKKUR: Thul tense after rocket attack

SUKKUR, Oct 14: Tension mounted between the Khoso and the Sarki tribes after a rocket was fired on Monday at a rice mill in Thul.

The building of the rice mill, belonging to Ayaz Khoso, a relative of the Sindh Democratic Alliance (SDA) leader, Mir Hassan Khan Khoso, was damaged in the rocket attack.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Meanwhile, Khoso tribesmen manhandled Jaffar Dayo, who was the polling agent of Mir Sohrab Sarki, in Mirpur Buriro.

The situation has been tense in Thul and other areas adjoining Jacobabad since the polling day.

The supporters of Sohrab Sarki and Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani had cordoned off the Mukhtiarkar’s office in Thul, where the votes were being counted.

Tahir Khoso, the rival candidate of Sohrab Sarki in PS-15, who had gone to hold talks, had been overpowered and was locked up for over 15 hours.

He was released on the next morning.

KILLED: One person was killed near the Sarhad Railway Station, Ghotki district, early Monday morning.

Four unidentified armed thieves were cutting Railway wire near the Railway station when some other persons challenged them as a result of which one of the thieves opened fire, killing Ali Sher Arbani.
