RAWALPINDI: RCCI chief discusses visa issue with UAE envoy

RAWALPINDI, Nov 13: Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) president Sohail Sethi met the UAE ambassador to Pakistan Mohammad Bin Hamad al-Shamsi here on Tuesday and discussed with him matters pertaining to the issuance of visas to Pakistani traders.

Mr Sethi briefed the ambassador on the problems being faced by the Rawalpindi business community in the acquisition of UAE visas in the wake of US-Taliban conflict.

He urged the UAE ambassador to take all possible steps for the promotion of trade between the two countries, irrespective of the regional situation.

It was agreed at the meeting that the UAE Embassy would honour the RCCI recommendatory letters for the grant of business visas. Mr Shamsi assured Mr Sethi of special consideration in genuine cases.

RCCI senior vice-president Hussain Ozgen, vice-president Rizwan Mohammad, vice-president Khwaja Naveed and executive committee member Masood Akhtar Usmani were also present on the occasion.
