The train from across the border

Thousands of Sikh pilgrims arrived from neighboring India to attend the religious festival of “Besakhi", the Sikh New Year at the shrine of Gurudwara Panja Sahib and Nankana Sahib.

Nankana Sahib is the birthplace of Sikh faith founder Guru Nanak Dev and is located some 75 km southwest of Lahore. The Indian sikh pilgrims thronged the immigration office upon their arrival at Wagah railway station near Lahore. Following are some images of their journey from boarding the train to the joy of reaching Pakistan.
