“Moriones (the mask) festival”

Welcome

Moriones festival, usually referred to as the mask or visor festival, is celebrated every year during the holy week in Philippines. The “Moriones” – men and women in colorful costume and masks reflecting biblical Roman soldiers – parade the streets as part of celebration. Colorful Roman costumes, masks and helmets, and brightly-colored tunics mark this folk-religious festival. – Photos by Reuters
