Dadu sizzles as mercury jumps to 48o

DADU, May 4: The city experienced the hottest day of the season on Wednesday when mercury scaled up to 48 degrees Celsius.

Roads and markets gave a haunted look as people preferred to stay indoors while those venturing out of necessity, had to endure intense heat. It was further revealed that five people were admitted to the Civil Hospital in unconscious state after falling victim to heat-stroke.

Three people, including Ms Kariman, 55, Ms Azizan, 45, and Dhani Bux, 60, lost consciousness while standing a the New bus Stand and Sami, 40, at Sabzi Mandi.

Doctors have advised people to stay indoors on extra hot days, take lots of liquid and cover their heads, if they have to go out in unavoidable conditions.

Business came to a standstill because of heat, said a trader.
