Plan inked to promote IT education in AJK

MIRPUR, Azad Jammu and Kashmir :An integrated plan for extension of quality higher-level professional and general education, harmonious to the needs of the modern age, had been inked in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) with the proposed allocation of over 35 per cent of the total budget of the liberated area for coming fiscal year 2011-12, official sources said.

The sources told APP here Monday that consolidation, restructuring and modern techniques would be the foremost priorities to ensure the provision of quality professional studies in all the campuses of AJK University.

They pointed out that special attention had been focused under the plan for the introduction and promotion of Information Technology studies in all the public sector educational institutions across the state.

An IT Board headed by AJK President had already been formed in Azad Kashmir for the promotion and the uplift of IT education.

The sources further stated that under the latest Information Technology education uplift plan, latest computer literacy programs had been launched simultaneously by the AJK University in its four main colleges campuses.
