Super Chandi tipped to win at LRC today
LAHORE, May 31: Five-year-old grey mare Super Chandi starts off as our day’s best in the day/night Lahore Gymkhana midweek races at the Racecourse on Wednesday evening.
The unknown pedigree mare, owned by Naeem Sarwar, is participating in the fourth and supporting event, the Pattoki Plate class VII division II to be gone over 900 metres.
Super Chandi was beaten to second place by Billoo Jani last Wednesday and will be going all out to make amends for that defeat. Four runners Puma Dynasty, Miano, Miss Muga and Kitten will be battling it out for places on the board.
The feature event, the Pattoki Plate class VII Division I to be contested over 900 metres has eight runners barring last-minute withdrawals. Of them three look on chance – Honest Minister, Lucky Grey and Untar. The first two were not allowed to run on merit on their previous outings and their riders were let off unscathed after warnings.
Punjabi Sultan is another speedy horse but he is appearing in races after a long absence from the track.
Four-year-old bay filly Shan-e-Gulbahar pulled up lame on her last outing in February this year and but is taking part on Wednesday. She has remained off the track since then nursing sore-shin trouble.
The filly will be vying against Bailiff Chan and Star Shine for the top honours in the third race, Pattoki Plate class VII division III over 900 metres.
Hadi Prince, Bulbul II and Hassan My Love look good in the second race. They should fight it out in the same order.
Seven-year-old dark bay horse Chittan, beaten to third place last Wednesday, should win the first race. He will have Accurate Princess and Arabian Fight on his side all along the 900 metres race.
A card of five events will be gone through with all events contested over the 900 metres distance.
