A pinch of salt
Sea salt is produced through solar evaporation of seawater and is the smallest source of salt in Pakistan. Labourers earn about 600 Pakistan Rupees ($7) a day. The salts are sold commercially by contractors to different industries in Pakistan and overseas. The following photos describe the salt harvesting process at Sandspit which is about 18 km (11 miles) southwest of Karachi. - Photos by Reuters
