`Banned outfit active in Kotri, Hyderabad`

HYDERABAD, July 3: People belonging to the Shia community held a demonstration outside the press club on Sunday against a proscribed religious organisation.

Addressing the demonstrators who had gathered on a call given by the Hyderabad chapter of the Jafria Alliance Pakistan, Syed Rashid Hussain Rizvi said that the banned Sipah-e-Sahaba was creating unrest in Kotri and Hyderabad but the authorities were not taking any action against it.

He said the Khursheed colony and Khuda Ki Basti in Kotri had become a centre of the organisation.

He said the organisation held public meetings in Kotri and Hyderabad where provocative speeches were made against Millat-e-Jafria.

Moulana Sajid Ali Sajidi said law-enforcement agencies appeared to be patronising Sipah-e-Sahaba.

CONCERN: Tanzeem Asatiza Pakistan leader Professor Abu Amir Azmi, has expressed concern over kidnapping of a teacher of Karachi, Ajmal Waheed Khan, and his brother and demanded their immediate recovery.

In a statement faxed to on Sunday, he said Ajmal and his brother Osama Waheed were kidnapped when they were returning home from court. —Bureau
