Mickey`s work draws crowd

ISLAMABAD, July 7: Photographing models is Kaleem Ahsan's passion. But for someone who has worked with cameras for more than 15 years nature and personalized photography is as tempting.

Ahsan is a creative talent with an eye for the good photograph and considerable passion for his work.

Kaleem Ahsan better known as Mickey put up a show of some of his best works at Tehzeeb, a restaurant that also houses space for exhibitions.

“Personal encounters on the journey of life” is a retrospective collection of coloured and black and white images of models, nature images, art photography and characters. The display that was a crowd puller included 30 images and focused mostly on fashion and character photos.

Mickey loved capturing old faces as much as he did younger faces of children. “These are more than just about expressions but are character studies,” Mickey said explaining his love for photographing faces.

Mickey who is also a journalist and teaches photography at the Bahria University missed his analogue camera, he said.

“Everything may be digital these days but the impact and beauty of analogue cameras and the grainy effect remains unmatched,” said the fashion photographer explaining how understanding the equipment was more important than just owning fancy photography gear.

Besides the themed fashion photographs, there were also images from the 2005 earthquake, architecture and photography of sunsets and dawn.

The fashion photography is devoted to displaying clothing and other fashion items as the main subject. The main models photographed directly depicting attitude and confidence.

A few of the photographs could inspire you to take even better fashion photographs and take skills to the next level. The display will run for a month.
