Qureshi resumes duties
LAHORE, Aug 15: FIA's Additional Director General Zafar Ahmed Qureshi assumed the charge of his office on Monday without 'hindrance'.
A bomb hoax in the FIA building on Temple Road on Saturday had prevented him from attending his first day in the office after his reinstatement on the directive of the Supreme Court.
Mr Qureshi, an investigation officer in the NICL case, reportedly held a meeting on Monday with two members of his team, assistant directors Muhammad Ahmed and Khalid Anees.
After his reinstatement, Mr Qureshi had asked FIA Director General Tahseen Anwar Shah as to why he had granted 'long leave' to four members of his (Qureshi's) team. He had requested his boss to entertain his 'request' and ensure his team's presence in Lahore office as he wanted to have a meeting with members of the team.
It is not clear whether the two officials just came to see him on the order of the agency's chief or their long leaves have been cancelled. — Staff Reporter
